Simpson Strong-Tie® EMN22i Adhesive Mixing Nozzle

The EMN22i is the static mixing nozzle for Simpson Strong-Tie SET-3G™ high-strength epoxy. Adhesive is blended as it passes through the internal helix, so the two components arrive at the hole fully mixed. Each cartridge ships with one nozzle; keep spares on hand, because a nozzle that has been left to cure cannot be reused.

The EMN22i does not fit AT-3G™, which uses the AMN19Q nozzle, or Strong-Bond™, which comes with its own nozzle.

Using the Nozzle

Thread the nozzle onto the cartridge before loading it into the dispensing tool.
Dispense to waste as the cartridge label directs, until the adhesive shows a uniform color.
Fill each hole from the bottom up, keeping the nozzle in the adhesive to avoid air pockets.
Leave the used nozzle on the cartridge to seal it between sessions, and fit a fresh nozzle for the next use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reuse a mixing nozzle?

No. Once adhesive cures inside the helix the nozzle is finished. Leave it on the cartridge as a cap, then fit a new one.

How many spare nozzles should I keep?

Plan on one per session, plus spares for interruptions. Adhesive left sitting in a nozzle sets quickly in warm weather.

Does the EMN22i work with AT-3G?

No. AT-3G uses the AMN19Q nozzle.

Do I have to use the Simpson nozzle for code-listed work?

Yes. SET-3G installations that must meet ICC-ES ESR-4057 or ESR-4844 have to be dispensed through the nozzle supplied by Simpson Strong-Tie. Do not substitute another manufacturer's nozzle.
