Simpson Strong-Tie® AT-3G™ High-Strength Hybrid Acrylic Anchoring Adhesive
AT-3G is Simpson Strong-Tie's code-listed, fast-cure adhesive for anchoring threaded rod and rebar in cracked and uncracked concrete. It is a two-component vinylester-urethane hybrid that cures in as little as 30 minutes at 68°F and installs in concrete as cold as 23°F, so same-day bolt-up is practical even in cold weather. It is evaluated under ICC-ES ESR-5026, including a Florida Building Code supplement with High-Velocity Hurricane Zone compliance.
Key Features
- Code listed — ICC-ES ESR-5026 (AC308 / ACI 355.4) for cracked and uncracked concrete, with Florida (HVHZ) and City of Los Angeles supplements. Florida FL15730.
- Post-installed rebar — evaluated for rebar development and splice length design.
- Seismic — tension and shear loads in Seismic Design Categories A through F.
- Wet conditions — dry concrete, water-saturated concrete, water-filled holes and underwater installations.
- Fast cure — 30 minutes at 68°F and above; 5 hours at 23–31°F.
- High-temperature capable — rated to 320°F short-term and 212°F long-term.
- Simple hole cleaning — blow-brush-blow with a wire brush; no power brushing.
- NSF/ANSI 61 — certified for water treatment applications with rods up to 1.3" diameter.
- Stainless-rod ready — ESR-5026 permits stainless steel threaded rod for exterior and damp exposures.

Drill all holes with a rotary hammer. For ASTM A36/F1554 Grade 36 rod, maximum torque is 11 ft-lb. For rebar sizes and design values, see ICC-ES ESR-5026.
Installation Tips
- Drill the hole with a rotary hammer to the bit diameter in the table and the embedment depth your design requires.
- Clean the hole with the blow-brush-blow method using the matching Simpson wire brush, following the cartridge label.
- Check the expiration date and make sure the cartridge is between 41°F and 104°F.
- Attach the AMN19Q mixing nozzle, load the cartridge into the CDT10S tool and dispense to waste as directed on the label.
- Fill the hole from the bottom up. For horizontal and overhead work, use piston plugs with 1/2" and larger rod; for 3/8" rod, inject to the back of the hole with adhesive tubing only.
- Insert the rod, restrain horizontal and overhead anchors, and leave them undisturbed for the full cure time before torquing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use stainless steel threaded rod with AT-3G?
Yes. ESR-5026 covers ASTM F593 and ASTM A193 B8/B8M stainless rod, and permits stainless or hot-dip galvanized rod for exterior and damp exposures. Zinc-plated rod is limited to dry, interior locations.
Can I dispense AT-3G with a regular caulking gun?
No. For code-compliant installations, dispense AT-3G with a Simpson Strong-Tie dispenser. The CDT10S manual tool fits the 9.5 oz cartridge.
Can I install AT-3G below freezing?
Yes, into concrete as cold as 23°F. Keep the cartridge at 41°F or warmer and allow 5 hours of cure time at 23–31°F.
Are there temperature conditions where AT-3G should not be used?
Do not use it where the concrete temperature can swing from 40°F or below to 80°F or above within 12 hours, such as facade anchorage in direct sun.
How does AT-3G compare with SET-3G and Strong-Bond?
Choose AT-3G for fast, same-day loading and cold-weather work. SET-3G™ is Simpson's high-strength epoxy with a longer working time. Strong-Bond™ is for everyday, non-specified anchoring and is not code listed.
